In order to bring about changes in public policy for development sustainability in Indonesia, Millennium Challenge Account-Indonesia or MCA-Indonesia invests in knowledge gathering and dissemination in issues related with renewable energy, natural resource management, and sustainable agriculture under the Green Prosperity Project, specifically promoted through Green Knowledge Activity.

Green Knowledge Activity is one component of Green Prosperity Project which focuses on knowledge gathering and dissemination related with renewable energy, natural resources managemenit, and sustainable agriculture in 13 districts of four provinces in West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi and Jambi.

Information and studies collected by Green Knowledge grantees is expected to bring changes in public policy for sustainable development and environment in Indonesia.

In September 18, 2015, seven grantees, both consortium and single grant recipients, have signed cooperative contracts with MCA-Indonesia to implement the Green Prosperity Project.

 

Purpose of Grants

This grant aims to improve working skills and other related expertise, implement capacity building, technical assistance, job and professional training in order to meet with national demands for low-carbon development strategies.

This grant also supports the purposes of Green Prosperity Project to facilitate the gathering, application and dissemination of knowledge relevant with low-carbon strategies.

As a part of Green Knowledge Activity, this grant is specified on national level. However, activities of training and community development are focused in the following 13 districts of four provinces of Green Prosperity Project.

  • Districts of Muaro Jambi, Merangin, Kerinci and East Tanjung Jabung in Jambi Province;
  • Districts of Mamuju and Mamasa in West Sulawesi;
  • Districts of Southwest Sumba, Central Sumba, West Sumba and East Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara Province; and
  • Districts of Central Lombok, East Lombok, and North Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara Province.
